We’ve banned the bag and skipped the straw. Now it’s time to stop the flow of all the rest of the garbage that trashes our beaches and waterways.
California Coastkeeper Alliance led the effort to put a law on the books to make cities and counties upgrade storm drains to screen out plastic bottles, cigarette butts, and other debris. We need your help to ensure that your community leads the way in solving its trash problem.
1. Take the Trash-Free by 2030 Pledge:
I’m taking a stand for our waters to be trash-free by 2030. I pledge to help my community tackle its trash problem before it gets dumped into our rivers and ocean.
2. Get involved by reporting pollution, volunteering for a California Waterkeeper program trash clean up, or donating.
3. Learn more about how trash harms our $39 billion coastal economy, and threatens the health and safety of humans and wildlife.
