CCKA Executive Director Named California Coastal Hero

undefinedCalifornia Coastkeeper Alliance Executive Director, Linda Sheehan was named a "California Coastal Hero" by Sunset Magazine and the California Coastal Commission.  Ms. Sheehan was recognized for her efforts to clean up the waters that flow through California communities to the ocean, and to provide the public with the tools and information needed to hold government decision makers accountable.  She has achieved notable success in protecting the health of coastal and marine waters by working to pass landmark legislation and policies that control pollution, improve coastal water quality monitoring, increase enforcement, and make state water data available to the public.  Ms. Sheehan was honored along with eight other “Coastal Heroes” at the “Celebration for the Coast Event” in San Francisco, in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Coastal Cleanup Day.  This award is a credit to the coordinated efforts of all of California’s Waterkeepers to protect and enhance the health of California’s world-renowned coast and ocean.  Read the media release here.
